Mr Danladi Chiya, the Chairman of Kwali Area Council, FCT, has advised residents to obey the Federal Government’s restriction order imposed to check the spread of COVID-19 in the country.
Chiya made the call in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kwali on Thursday.
According to him, it is necessary for the residents to adhere strictly to the restriction directive and take precautionary measures to contain the spread of COVID-19 in the FCT.
”The restriction order should not be violated because that is a presidential order and we as servants of the people also have to adhere to that order.”
“Coronavirus is a disease that is ravaging the world and we in the FCT cannot be an exception, so whatever order that is given by the President we should obey it.”
”We should not use our own hands to kill ourselves, so we should abide by the rules and regulations of this COVID-19, stay at home and wash your hands always.”
“If you want to go out, have your face mask and by 8 O’clock there is a standing order to stay at home,” he said.
However, he urged the residents to henceforth, stop shaking hands, touching, hugging and kissing in order to stop further spread of the virus.
He also charged the general public to keep their surroundings clean and wash their hands regularly with soap and water as well as use hand sanitiser.
